About us

Our History

Recognizing that there was a need for a forum for Airshed Zones to discuss common issues, formation of the Alberta Airsheds Council (AAC) was a recommendation that came out of the Clean Air Strategic Alliance (CASA) "In the Zone Conference" held in October 2005.  The AAC's first meeting was held in May 2006 and was facilitated by CASA.  The AAC finalized its Terms of Reference in June 2007 and independently hosted the 2nd Zones Conference in October 2007.

Our Mission

To support and advocate for Alberta Airshed Zones

Our Vision

Sustainable, credible and cooperative Alberta Airshed Zones

Our Current Structure

Currently, the AAC is an informal organization and is not a registered non-profit society.  A member airshed zone, Parkland Airshed Management Zone (PAMZ) is currently acting as the organizations "banker".  The AAC is drafting a set of by-laws and expects to be incorporated as a society by the end of 2009.  There are currently two Co-Chairs:

Kevin Warren - Parkland Airshed Management Zone
Mike Bisaga - Lakeland Industry and Community Association
